Only Program You Need To Make Wavs

While surfing the net I found a fantastic free program. You can make wavs from your Cd's. It converts Mp3's to Wav Format. It also has codecs to convert Windows Media files and Real Player files to wav format. You can also choose the output wav settings so you can convert from mp3 straight to mpeg layer 3 wavs. (perfect for chat wavs). It has other options like normalizing the volume. (Great when you are converting mp3's to wavs for making CD's. You can also have it set to delete the mp3 after converting to wav. (Great for those concerned about using up too much hard drive space.)

Download and Install the Converter.

Converting Mp3's To Wav

Once installed right click on the mp3 and hit Convert to. (You can set it to do an entire folder of mp3's by highlighting them all first.) Choose Wave.

After you choose Wave another box will come up and you can choose your settings.

Click the Change button to select your output settings. If you are making compressed chat wavs this is a good setting to use.

If you are making wavs for a cd this is the setting you should choose.

The Browse button is for selecting your output folder.

Remember you can choose Normalize Volume to make all wavs at the same volume level.

Checking The Delete Source File(s) after conversion will delete the mp3 after the wav is made.

When you have selected all your settings Choose Convert. I hope you enjoy using this converter as much as I do. It makes the job very easy.

Here are the codecs for converting other files if you need them.

Making Wavs From Cd's

This is the easiest program I have ever used to make wavs. It does all the work for you including searching the internet for the cd track titles and labeling the wavs for you.

Go to Start - Programs -dBpowerAMP Music Converter and click dMC Audio Cd Input to activate the program.

Pop in your cd and the program will load the track titles from the internet.

If it fails to load the titles hit the CDDB button on the top of the program. (You must be connected to the internet for it to retrieve the titles.)

Next hit the Convert To button on the top left to start the wav making process. When the next box pops up choose Wave.

On the next box we will select sound properties and output directory.

Change button to select the properties of the wav. Here are the settings I prefer.

Once you have selected your settings hit ok. Hit the Browse button to select your output folder. (Where you want the wavs to go.)

Hit the convert button at the bottom right and the program makes your wavs.

I hope you enjoy using this as much as I do.

Happy Waving!
